Sao Paulo, SP – Brazil

A renowned eye clinic specialized in ocular surgery, occupied two floors of a high-rise building in a prime location in downtown Sao Paulo. Their goal was to fully redo its occupied space to create a modern, welcoming, state-of-the-art patient care center. The architectural challenge was to work within the existing shell to modernize and enhance the experience of staff and clients while seamlessly integrating a complex medical program.

New spaces were defined with customized built-in cabinetry and glazed walls to create a balance of transparency and connectivity between common spaces while maintaining the privacy and functionality of the medical areas.

Mauricio was invited by Estudio AE Arquitetura (formerly  AE Construções) to design and perform the construction administration of this project in partnership with his colleague and friend, Guilherme Fortunato.
