Mauricio has solely designed and has supervised the construction for this impressive 6,700 SF (620 m2) residential project in San Mateo County, California. Located at almost 700 FT (210m) above sea level with stunning views of the San Francisco Bay, this unique lot “bends” at mid-point to follow the windy contours of the hillside road. The floor plan was projected to follow the shape of the terrain, elegantly folding the house into two interconnected wings that maximize the use of the lot and position the living spaces towards spectacular views.

Uniquely contemporary, this fully customized home brings both form and function into full architectural harmony. The exterior expresses a gentle, yet bold language of intersecting angles and juxtaposed volumes with strategically placed openings that create the indoor-outdoor dialogue, inviting in the surroundings and an abundance of natural light.

The design evidences a strong focus on energy savings and indoor-air-quality. With a fully automated, 100% LED lighting and shading systems, the house is also equipped with a large array of photovoltaic panels that generate and store energy in conjunction with a home battery system. The water heating system is also assisted by solar energy and the hydronic floor heating provides comfortable warmth, without the use of forced air.
