Modern Art Museum Store

Sao Paulo, SP – Brazil

One of Mauricio’s first independent endeavors, this challenging tenant improvement project inserted in a large shopping mall in many ways spawned his architectural language and helped to define his style of design. Inspired by the unique visual identity of Sao Paulo’s Modern Art Museum (MAM), Mauricio defined the space by incorporating an imposing four-meter steel door displaying the museum’s logo. In addition, an iconic photo of the museum was used as a back panel with an art display window replicating the mullions of the actual building, a landmark designed by the brilliant Lina Bo Bardi and built in Sao Paulo’s Ibirapuera Park.

All furniture and built-in elements were custom designed by Mauricio for the space.
